OTT Rally 2009
The Oldest Town in Texas Rally at Nacagdoches had an awesome turn out for th first year!  Friday there was over 300 bikes early into the day before I returned to Hanks Creek Camp ground on the Sam Rayburn lake.  On Saturday 500 bikes were lined up before 12 noon getting ready for the stunt bike show!  Plenty of vendors there (some of which remembered me and we visited) and I am sure there will be even more at the one next year!  I also visited with some new vendors that are selling the book Clyde the Glyde!  It is a biker book for kids!

I got to visit with the CMA folks at registration, security and childrens ministry as well as at the hospitality tent.  I did visit with one couple from the Honor Bound ministry as well.  The just as I was getting ready to leave I ran into David and his lovely bride from the Bikers for Jesus!  Looking forward to returning to this rally next year for sure.

Biker Bash 2009 Granbury
This gallery has pictures from the Biker Bash Rally 2009 in Granbury, Texas.  This is the first annual rally hosted by the Warriors for Christ.  There were plenty of vendors and some interesting events not normally found at biker rallys.  You will enjoy some pictures ranging from the Interstate Batteries race car #18 to a sky diver with the American Flag coming in!

McGregor EMS Fund Raiser
At 0735 hours, Ethan rode with me up to the CEFCO at 116 and 84 West of Gatesville while Tammy came up in the cage.  Troy and Chuckster were already there.  We visited a little and drank some coffee while others came in with Luis.  We had eight (8) bikes and one (1) cage as we left out at 0800 hours for Copperas Cove.

As we rolled into Cove, Pastor Billy Sanders jumped in the group with us as we passed his place.  There was Alan with COL and Jose, Luis' brother.  What a turnout!  We were now at eleven (11) bikes!

I also got to see another brother who just happen to be pulling onto 116 as we all went by.  He stopped in for a brief moment.  Long enough to give me a hug and tell Tammy and Ethan hello.  In less than five minutes  I bid him farewell with a hug and told him "I love you man, I really mean that!"  He replied, "I love you too."  As he headed out to visit family we mounted our iron horses for a short ride to Killeen.

We rolled out at about 0830 as planned heading to Killeen for the monthly Warriors of the Way ride!  We arrived there to find Windward getting off his scooter.  Richard and Kenny had already arrived and were inside What-a-Burger.  (That's right 13 bikes!)

As we visited and ate our breakfast another Chisholm Trail Riding Club member, Stan, pulled in as planned.  That made three (3) folks from the CTRC for the ride.  Marilyn showed up on her bright yellow trike!  The road captain for the Warriors of the Way, Marcy Ng, arrived and I would say was a little bit surprised and excited to have so many show up.  She was the only one from her chapter that was there.  The last blessing that made a total of eighteen (18) bikes was a CMA couple from Austin.

We left in two groups of nine, Marcy taking the first group and I took the second group.

We arrived in McGregor for the fund raiser and I think everyone participated in one way or another.  Some in the raffles and others at the dunking booth, and so on.

Word was that the Waco harley shop still had a Utra-classic with a side car so some of us headed that way to see if I might trade Grace in.  The small group of six bikes got there and the bike had been sold but we stuck around and ate a free hot dog and drank a diet coke.  Ethan did get a $19.00 stuffed Harley dog but that is much cheaper than a $33K bike.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.  By the Way, the fella that is parked the wrong way at the pumps doesn't know I took the picture.  I won't tell you who it was but some of you will recognize his scooter.

Church Under the Bridge
Monty and Ethan mounted up on their iron chariot with "momma" (Tammy) bringing up the rear in her cage.   Tammy went back to the house after arriving at the CEFCO to get her shades.  While she was gone I met a man looking for directions to the Hughes unit.  He was headed there to visit a friend and I sent him off with a prayer.  It was a quick one as he didn't want to stop but he did acknowledge it with a "God Bless you" as he got back in the car.  At 0930 hours, after visiting with Troy (another COL member) and Laura (independant local) we said our prayer and loaded up.

We arrived at the Church Under the Bridge at about 1015 hours and folks were still bringing in everything.  I mean EVERYTHING!  If you see it in the pictures it is brough in Sunday morning before services.  If you drive down to fifth street and I35 right now you will find nothing!  But everything from over 200 folding chairs, to portable toilets shows up Sunday before the services!  Awesome helps ministry rigth there, Amen?

I was beginning to wonder if the CMA were actually putting on a "biker service" and was on the phone calling a sister in Christ to confirm when about 30 bikes rolled up!  And, then another 20 or 30 more!  Praise the Lord, yes!

Church Under the Bridge busses came in as well (two of them full) with folks eager to hear the word of God.

Tammy and I got to see a lot of old friends this morning and made a few new also!  We prayed with Justin for God's anointing on the message this morning and as it grew closer to time for service, more people were receiving prayer!  God is so awesome, Amen?

Texas Praise brought us the praise and worship and was it anointed as well!  Boy if you didn't a little bit excited your wood is wet!

The total of folks was over 300 and about 75 of them bikers!  The message was also anointed and the Spirit moved!

It never seems to fail that when you go to one event you learn about other events!  Now we have three rallies to make in September!  Wow!

I am so glad that Laura had told me about this event or I would have missed out on a serious blessing indeed.

After the service we went to Long John Silver's for lunch!  Then a scenic ride back to Gatesville.

Memorial Day Weekend
We started off the long weekend with a Bike Night at the Sonic.  We met at 7PM and went for a scenic ride that Pete led us on.  We returned back to the Sonic for some food and fellowship and then that night we loaded up the scooter on the trailer and slept in the motorhome so we wouldn't have to wake Ethan up in the morning.  The trip went well and the rally was good too but we had lots of fun at Lake O the Pines with family.  We also celebrated Ehan's birthday again with his East Texas family.  Enjoy the pics.

Iron Horse Rodeo
Here are some pictures from when we went to the iron Horse Rodeo in Rusk, Texas.  A small rally but very nice.  You will see pictures of Ethan helping load up his very own scooter!  He even wipes his scooter down like a big biker dows after we got rained on (NO I didn't show him he got the towel by him self!)  He is so smart!  Ethan also received a free gift from one of the vendors which we had to get a picture of.  One of the highlights was that we got to see a couple trains while we were there and Ethan loves trains!  Anyway, then the Sunday service pics are nice as well.  Then the last few pics are of the Sunday evening service at Heaven's Open Door where the Chariots of Light blessed a couple families.

TMRA State Rally in Comanche
Friday started off with a nice long soak in the hot tub!  Then Tammy cooked up some mean breakfast while I pulled the RV from the back yard to our next door neighbors parking lot.  Then hooked up the trailer and loaded the scooter.  We pulled out at 1045 hours and arrived at Comanche about 12 noon.  We got camp set up, kicked the ball around with Ethan some and then visited with friends.  Then we visited with more friends!  Pete also came in from Longview again and him and Ethan went swinging.  The first night was finished off with some Jiffy Pop!

Saturday morning Ethan and I went for a walk after breakfast and then we all visited with Pete while he cooked his breakfast.  I did get to visit with some folks I hadn't seen in a long time.  In quite a few cases I visited with folks that were getting ready to leave to beat the incoming weather!  We had a little rain during the day but the real bad stuff was due in that evening.  We made our rounds more than once and on one round, Ethan received a free doo-rag from Jerry and did a hand shake on the deal.

We bought Ethan a sponge bob and he wanted to walk it.  Ethan wasn't the only one that gets rides from his grandpa!  There was a couple others riding their little ones at the rally.  We were camped right next to J.R. Lewis who has a couple bikes with sidecars and I learned a bunch about them!  We are looking for one so Tammy doesn't get left out whenever I leave camp.  Finally we had a Easter basket for Ethan and he was surprised to see it!

Sunday morning at 0330 hours the bottom dropped out and the thunder and lightening was on us!  I was snug as a bug in a rug and the recent silicone repairs that I had made, held on the 13 year old RV.  I got up just a few minutes before 0700 and had some coffee.  By 0745 I was visiting with Pete as he loaded up his bunkhouse.  He was proud of himself roughing it and he spared no candor in letting me know <LOL>  Anyway just as the CMA services were getting started Pete came up to the camp site to say goodbye to Tammy and Ethan and we prayed for his safe journey home.  Then I made my rounds to tell people happy Ressurection Sunday and send them off with the Lord's traveling mercies.  I got to visit with a couple that were doing their first rally as vendors and took a picture of their sleeping quarters.  It might be small but they had the comforts of home inside it.  I also got to visit with the Cherokee Wind Warriors and prayed with them.  It was a blessing to see folks that I had not seen since the TMRA State Rally of 2007!  I was humbled when they told me that they remembered me from when I had prayed with them two years ago!  I also learned about their upcoming rally and will be making two trips to East Texas in May!  Just as I was making final adjustments for the trip home a bunch of the Gryphons came in so I walked back down to their site to wish them God's traveling mercies on their trip home.

We got back to Gatesville and then hurried over to give Rylan (another grandson) his Easter.  On the way back to the house, I noticed some bikers with a lot of stuff out on the ground at McDonalds so did a quick U-turn to check on them and guess what!  It was the Cherokee Wind Warriors again!  They were broke down but another brother from their club was on the way so I left my card just in case and went home.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and I pray for better weather next rally which will in Rusk, Texas the 15th thru 17th.

In His Service-  Monty

Armor Bearer Rountable III and Fellowship Feast III
Heaven's Open Door had their third Armor Bearers' Roundtable on the first Saturday of April.  This is when the Armorbearers of the church arrived to the church and this time we set up for a Yard Sale.  Many of the folks (ten total) showed up the night before and helped price the items and move them to the front of the church just inside the door.

We had plenty of people the following morning too!  It was a serious blessing to have ten (10) adults working together to raise money for Heaven's Open Door as well as fix some things around the place.

We were able to get the flat fixed on the lawn mower and clean out the shed making plenty of room for the left overs from the Yard sale!

That is what the Armor Bearer's Round Table is all about!  We have good fellowship and get work done at the same time, Amen?

The total raised for the church was $489!  Isn't God too Good!?

The 3rd Fellowship Feasts (which is the Sunday evening following the Armor Bearers' Roundtable)  was the best we have had so far!  There were 18 adults and 12 children!  That is an awesome turn out!

Enjoy the pictures!  Next gallery will be from the TMRA State Rally.

Ethan's Potty Chair and Thomas the Train Makeover!
Well the time has come for Ethan to be potty trained and we decided to build him a special potty chair that we had plans for.  It was an adventure fo me as I had not done any wood work in quite a few years.  But it came out ok, and he loves it!

The Thomas the Train theme for his room was also and exciting adventure for us and me and Tammy are just a little bit proud of the outcome.

Spring Fling 2009
There are plenty of pictures here from the Spring Fling Rally in Gatesville!

Armor Bearer Rountable II and Fellowship Feast II
Heaven Open Door has started the Armor Bearers' Roundtable on the first Saturday of every month.  This is when the Armorbearers of the church arrive at 8AM to do odd jobs around the place and make minor repairs as needed.

The Fellowship Feasts are the Sunday evening following the Armor Bearers' Roundtable where everyone brings one of their favorite dishes with a little extra for others and we all enjoy each other in the fellowship hall before going in to the sanctuary and singing praises to our Lord.

As you will see in the pictures just changing a light bulb or preparing a flower garden spot are among some of the things the guys did while the ladies sorted through boxes and boxes of items for the upcoming garage sale we will be having.

Take notice that all ages enjoy singing to the Lord at the Feast!

St Valentine Massacre
Pictures from the 32nd St Valentine Massacre at Boerne, Texas.  The rally has as many recreational vehicles as tents in this day and age!

Frost Bite Ride
It was 31 degress warm when I headed to the bank for some cash.  The ATM must have been frozen also as I had to head on over to the Super Wal-Marts which is where I bought Tammy her valentines present.  I was glad to get my hands around the warm cup of coffee at McDonalds at about 0640 hours.  I didn't expect anyone to ride with me due to the weather.  I ate a huge breakfast and visited with locals that had started up a conversation about how cold it was and questioned my sanity.  I was pulling out of MickyD's mumbling something about motorcycle enthusiast and where are the real bikers when I heard the phone ringing.  I had not left the parking lot yet so stopped and removed my gear just in time for the phone to start ringing again.  "Monty, I got your email, we are leaving from Heaven's Open Door right?"  I am not sure if he could hear the YEEEPEEE in my voice as I calmly told him where I was but in a few moments Mark arrived and his facial expression let me know that we were going back in for some coffee.  Kick stands up the second time at 8:30 and we rode hard making up some time.  We got to visit briefly with a few folks before taking off on the poker run.  The Frost Bite Poker Run was a 113 mile ride and praise the Lord that it warmed up about half way through!  The leathers came off at about 1100 hours and the day turned out to be really good!

The Wreath Run for the Fallen
Pete and I took off from Gatesville at about 0700 hours and it was a bit chilly!  Stopped in Cove to visit with Glenn a COL brother before he went to work.  We sipped on some hot coffee there for a few minutes before we made our way to the starting point for the Wreath Run.  We were escorted to the Veterans Cemetary buy the police and they did a great job keeping all intersections clear for us!  We were greeted by over a hundred folks clapping as we by them to park our scooters.  There was such a great turn out that we had to hunt to find a head stone for the second wreath!

Angel Tree Toy Run
There was a really nice turn out, well over a hundred bikes.  The ride went great with escorts from the police at all the major intersections.  The chili was great at the end of the ride as well.  I got to see a lot of old friends and made a couple new ones at the same time.  You will see pictures at the Brookshires parking lot while we all gathered for the ride and had fellowship while we waited for the KSU time.

There were quite a few bike blessings during this fellowship time which is always a blessing for us to be able to do!  Amen?

Then there are a few pictures at the end where we ate some chili and visited with each other again.  best of all was that there will be lots and lots of happy children again this year!

Heaven's Open Door Benefit Rally
The day was a bit chilly at first!  Local folks from down the street brought in a 40 foot flat bed for us to use as a platform for the local musicians to use. There were bikers from an hour away that rolled in starting at about 1115 hours until 1230. By 1 PM we had 75 bikers and 35 bikes! This was a pretty awesome turn out for our first year, Amen? By 2 the music was starting inside as it never really got real nice outside and many of the bikers had said their goodbyes and hit the highways and byways to get home before it got any colder!

I think you will really like the picture of how we moved the BBQ pit!  My Harley was the only vehicle with a 1 7/8 inch ball so why not!

Eagle Scout Ceremony
The Van Horns made it to East Texas to attend John Tetrick's Eagle Scout Ceremony.  It was an honor to be a part of the ceremony as well.  There were three Eagle Scouts in the crowd that all had a part in the ceremony and the congressman that presented the flags to the new Eagles was also an Eagle Scout.  Congrats to John again!

Turnersville VFD BBQ Ride
The group started from Kays in Nolanville and stopped in Cove to pic up a few bikes and then stopped in Gatesville which is where the Gatesville crew was waiting.  We had eight bikes and nine people waiting on the group.  The total number of bikes was 18.  After the BBQ at Turnersville VFD, five bikes from the Gatesville crew headed on to Cranfills Gap to Horny Toads.  After a refresher there we headed back to Gatesville via another scenic ride.

Motorcycle Out Reach
